Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Since 1991, oh my, that's 25 years!
What is your primary product or service?
As a Marriage and Family therapist, II provide individual, couple and family therapy for a variety of issues. My dual license as a registered dietitian allows me to counsel clients on nutritional topics such as weight loss, eating disorders and food sensitivities to name a few.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I've always been interested in nutrition and helping others. After working as an RD for a number of years, I took a position at Linden Oaks Hospital, a free standing psych hospital near my home in Naperville. It was there I started working with eating disordered patients and found my niche. Realizing I didn't have enough training in psych, I pursued my Masters at Adler School of Professional Psychology and began to blend my training.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I work out of my home which lends itself to a very comfortable, intimate setting unlike meeting with patients in an office. I integrate my dog and cat into treatment if patients wish and often do session outside in a lovely setting with a waterfall which helps people relax. Many people love the fact that they can resolve their eating issues in one place and get the psychological AND nutritional approach at the same time!
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I've had offices outside my home when I had other clinicians working with me but I'm solo at the moment. I never say 'never' but don't have any plans to expand at the moment.............but that is always subject to change.
Provide detailed directions to your location
I'm in SW Naperville, in the Ashbury subdivision, around 95th and Book Road. I'm 10" due south of Linden Oaks Hospital, which is on the Edward Hospital campus. Rt 59, 75th street, Boughton Road and I-55 are all paths people often take to reach me. There is a direct location tab on my website @ www.bubeckandassociates.com that will direct you to me.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, check or charge (all major cards). Some eating disordered clients will get their insurance to do a one-time exemption which allows them to get reimbursed for my services if their company cannot provide a dietitian that specializes in eating disorders. Otherwise, I'm considered an 'out-of-network' provider which most people have benefits for. Patients pay at the time of service and submit the 'superbill' I provide at the end of session.
Which areas do you service?
I see patients from 12 years of age to the elderly. Areas would be most therapeutic and nutritional issues. There are times patients have come with issues out of my realm of expertise and I don't hesitate to refer them out.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Just little-ol'-me!
What are your hours of operation?
8-6 Mon-Thurs, closed Fridays and the weekends
2 evenings I'm here till 9 pm
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
That I 'saved their life', which I think is an exaggeration but I do LOVE to hear I helped get them back on the right path or helped them initiate significant changes to their life. I believe strongly that divine intervention is involved and should be given most of the credit............I see myself as a 'tool' to help facilitate change. The person needs to be ready and willing.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
When you begin to change the way you see things, the things you see change!
Ask me tomorrow and I'll have another................I have oodles!
